once a dog snatched a large piece of meat from abutcher. he raced away through the town until the man grew tired of chasing him.?从前，一只狗从屠夫那里抢到一大块肉。他穿过村庄，飞快地逃跑。屠夫在后面追他，最后屠夫追不动了。then the dog trotted in to the woods to find a quiet place to enjoy his dinner.然后这只狗溜进树林，打算找一个安静的地方享用他的晚餐。

along the way, he came to a plank that lay across a fast-running stream, forming a bridge.?as he crossed he looked into the water and spotted a dog carrying a large piece of meat.?路上，他经过一块横跨湍急小溪的木板，他往水下张望，这时他发现水里也有一只狗叼着一大块肉。the dog froze and stared in the water. the other dog stopped as well.狗惊呆了，盯着水里看。水里的狗也站住不动。”his steak is much larger than mine ,” the dog decided.?”if i take his, i’ll have twice as much dinner as before.”“他的肉比我的更大，”狗心想，“如果我抢走他的肉，我就有双倍的晚餐了。”

finally, the dog couldn’t stand it any longer.?he leaned forward and tried to grab the steak from the other dog.狗忍不住了，他探身向前，试图夺走水里那只狗的肉。
